This front yard transformation on College Street showcases a thoughtful and well-executed revamp of a dated entrance that had lost its charm. The original concrete landing, worn and crumbling after more than 30 years, was completely removed to make way for a bold new front entry design. The team at Shades of Green constructed a multi-tiered wraparound staircase using modern dark-toned stone, giving the home a more grand and welcoming presence. With careful attention to elevation and flow, accent pavers were skillfully integrated along both sides of the existing asphalt driveway, allowing for a smooth visual and functional transition. Equally important was the complete overhaul of the garden beds, which had been overrun by invasive plants. These were excavated nearly a foot deep, replaced with fresh soil, and replanted with curated trees, shrubs, and perennials. Though still early in their growth cycle, the new plantings bring structure and softness to the design, anchored by symmetrical pops of color from seasonal planters. The landscaping gracefully frames the newly built entry, complemented by the precise layout of pavers and the crisp lines of the stonework.
